The Women’s Life Center is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare in a warm, caring environment. We offer a full range of women’s services – from high-risk deliveries to routine mammograms – with
state-of-the-art technology in a caring and comforting environment.

Whether you’re facing a complicated pregnancy or a gynecological surgery, our team at Southern Regional is ready to meet your needs and make you feel right at home. And we are just as focused on our littlest patients. Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides tender care and services for high-risk newborns.

Caring Beyond The Birth Experience

The health concerns of women last a lifetime. To ensure that you get the preventive and diagnostic care you need, we’ve developed a special Women’s Diagnostic Services area on the Terrace Level of the Women’s Life Center. In one convenient location we’ve combined mammography (both screening and diagnostic), ultrasound, bone-density screening and stereotactic breast biopsy.

With convenient parking and a streamlined admissions process, the Women’s Diagnostic Services area will meet your healthcare needs quickly, accurately and professionally.

In addition, we have our new Women’s Center at Spivey Station, which is located eight miles from Southern Regional Medical Center. This outpatient center provides breast imaging and diagnostics, as well as bone-density screening and other services.

Patient Education

We also have a full range of classes and educational resources to keep you informed about your
healthcare choices and help you navigate everything from breast-feeding to menopause. Many of our patient education resources are available online.

In addition, The Ernest L. Stroud Health Resource Library offers books, videos and periodicals that women can reference when making decisions about their health. This excellent library was furnished by donations to the Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation in honor of the late Ernest L. Stroud, who was a Clayton County Board of Education chairman and Southern Regional Health System board member.

Our Story

In the early 1990s, Donald B. Logan, the late President and CEO of Southern Regional Health System, shared his dream of developing a state-of-the-art healthcare facility designed just for the women of the Southern Crescent. It took years of planning and building, but today, that dream is a reality.

The Women’s Center at Southern Regional Medical Center offers women a full range of diagnostic and childbirth options in a warm, caring environment. From a routine screening mammogram to a high-risk birth, the dedicated professionals at the Women’s Center are here for you.
