Southern Regional Medical Center opened on April 19, 1971, as a small, community hospital in Riverdale, Georgia. Today, the hospital is licensed for 331 beds and owned by Prime Healthcare, an award-winning health system. Southern Regional is one of 14 not-for-profit members of the Prime Healthcare Foundation.

Southern Regional is accredited by The Joint Commission, certified as an accredited Chest Pain Center, and offers an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.

The hospital’s medical staff includes more than 350 physicians and clinicians who blend their passion for healing with advanced technology to offer the latest procedures and treatments.
Southern Regional’s Women’s Life Center offers a full range of services. The center’s specialized and experiencednurses, advanced practitioners and medical staffserve high risk mothers in the Obstetric Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery, Post Partum and the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for critical ill newborns.
