Ultrasound
State-of-the-art Technology In a Caring Environment
An ultrasound is a non-invasive test utilizing sound waves to help physicians diagnose and treat many conditions, from breast cancer to gynecological problems. For example, obstetrical ultrasounds are important during pregnancy because they can assess how the baby is growing, how the baby is positioned and many other key factors.
Southern Regional’s offers diagnostic ultrasound at both the hospital and Spivey Station Center facilities providing thousands of procedures each month for inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Department patients. Some of the more commonly-performed exams are abdominal, OB/GYN, breast, thyroid, and testicular ultrasounds. We also perform many pediatric exams such as baby spines, pyloric stenosis studies, and neonatal sonograms.
