In response to our community’s needs, Southern Regional provides accessible care aimed at reducing health disparities and improving long-term health outcomes.

Southern Regional Medical Center opens the Southern Community Health Center offering free and flat rate health visits (Includes Primary Care Visit, X-ray and Labs for a flat rate). The services include Primary Care, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals and no cost or low cost.

Despite the lack of funding, Southern Regional opened the doors of the beautiful community health center in response to the high rates of uninsured residents and the need for accessible healthcare services. Without this Primary Care center, the uninsured, underinsured and those without Primary Care, find themselves waiting too long going out and seeking care in an Emergency Department.
